How installation pricing works
Flooring labor is not a single per-square-foot number. The written price we send after measuring breaks out each part so you can compare quotes fairly:
- Removal and disposal of the existing floor, priced by material. Glued floors and tile take longer than carpet.
- Subfloor preparation: leveling, squeak repair and moisture mitigation. See subfloor preparation and moisture testing.
- Installation of the floor itself, which varies with the product and layout. Patterns and diagonals take more time and material.
- Stairs, trim and transitions, priced per step and per doorway.
- Moving furniture and appliances, if you want us to handle it.
Materials are quoted separately at current pricing, so you can see what the floor costs versus the labor. If you buy flooring from us and install it yourself, the guides and product pages list the manufacturer requirements you will need to follow for the warranty.
