Natural from face to backing
Earth Weave is one of very few carpets where the yarn, the backings and the glue holding them together are all natural. Wool yarn is locked into a hemp and cotton primary backing with rubber-tree latex, then backed with jute. Conventional carpet, including many wool carpets, uses styrene butadiene latex and synthetic backings.
Who chooses it
Families furnishing a nursery or bedroom, and clients with chemical sensitivities who have struggled with new-carpet odor. We have installed it in bedrooms from Potomac to Capitol Hill. Individual sensitivities vary, so we send swatches first and suggest living with one for a few days.
What to know before buying
Untreated wool is not stain proof. Blot spills promptly and expect slight color variation between undyed batches. Wall-to-wall orders are made for you, typically in 3 to 4 weeks. Pair it with a natural felt or rubber pad; we do not recommend synthetic rebond pads under this carpet.
