COREtec without the PVC
Most of the COREtec range, including CR504 Retro Revival, is WPC vinyl. Scratchless is different: COREtec replaces the vinyl core with a high-density mineral core and describes the construction as PVC-free. It keeps what people like about COREtec, a waterproof click plank with cork attached underneath, and it is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions.
What "Scratchless" means in practice
The name refers to the specialty scratch coating on top of the rigid mineral core, backed by a 30-year residential scratch warranty. It is not a promise that nothing will ever mark the floor. Grit under a chair leg still abrades any surface, so felt pads and doormats matter. For households in Bethesda, Arlington and across DC with large dogs, the scratch warranty is the reason to choose it over a standard WPC plank.
Long planks, fewer seams
The 9 inch format runs up to 86 inches long in mixed lengths, which COREtec calls the largest mineral core plank on the market. Long boards read more like sawn wood in open-plan rooms. They also need a flatter subfloor, which we check and correct during subfloor preparation.
Where it fits

The core is waterproof, so it is a candidate for below-grade rooms. We moisture test the slab first and use a vapor barrier where the installation guide requires one.
